I find their lack of faith disturbing… Not really, I just really wanted to say that.

This page is the final page of the scene. The next page is a transition page and is a bit too detailed as a result (also it has a long-ago-promised cameo on it). I’m not sure when the next page will go up but it will be at a point when I have it and the rest of the pages for that scene done (all 5 of them). I like the idea of not leaving things hanging mid scene and having guaranteed updates for at least a few weeks before taking another break. If you have an opinion about the timing of future updates I’d be glad to hear it! 🙂

There’s currently 3 scenes left in the chapter and each one is 5 pages long. Before the next chapter starts I’m going to have to think long and heard about art decisions. My current working art style is way too detailed for the amount of time I have available each week.

What will it take, Fae?

Hello! It’s been months! Hope everyone is doing well!

I didn’t want to post again until all the pages in the current scene were done and… well… they’re still not done… BUT… all but one is and I think that I’ll be able to complete it before it would be time to post that page. And maybe even build up a buffer while I’m at it.

Thanks for sticking with the on-again, off-again updates! There’s no guarantee that updates will ever go back to their previous regularity but I’m going to try to get as much done before grad school as possible.

As for the what’s currently going on: I completed a NSF fellowship application (will find out if I get money to pay for grad school in the spring), graduated summa cum laude (I’m a super nerd XP), and am currently applying to grad schools (2 applications down and 1 in the works with another professor or two to contact relatively soonish). Everyday I’m getting closer and closer to being a professional scientist. Yay!

For my parting words, I leave you with this brilliant song.

Long time no see! I’m kind of sort of back for a while. Things still won’t be consistent around here but I should be updating a lot more frequently over the summer. I’ll post further details down bellow but first the fun stuff.

Eternity Complex has gotten past the 450 page mark and so it’s time for another progress chart to get posted.

I love working on this chart because it is always a big confidence boost to see how far I’ve come since 2011. Roughly every 50 pages I add a new column and characters appear in their order of comic appearance except for Enya. She should be earlier in the chart but isn’t due to creating the chart before I redid the prologue and laziness.

If you want to see a larger version of the chart, please click on image.

As for what’s been going on for the past few months. It’s more a question of what hasn’t happened. The TLDR version is a roller coaster of good and bad that’s kept me constantly moving since March. I’m still constantly moving but at least I have enough time to art again. My goal for the summer is work on new pages and finally finish the updated first chapter. It’s been a few years since I re-wrote and sketched the first chapter but I haven’t had the time to finish what I started. I don’t like what is up currently and if I could change the pages out, I’d be much happier. That being said, priority is and always will be new pages.

The long version of what has been going on is two big research projects that had a paper and presentation component, new job (now I have two, though one is only during the school year), field camp in Ecuador, email broke, Russian visa paper work, wisdom tooth coming in, product updates for other job, visiting family, Aunt died, putting together a proposal to try and get a NSF grant for grad school, figuring out who I want to study under in grad school, studying for the GRE, finding a treasurer to take my place, putting together a poster presentation and abstract for conference based on work I did last semester, apply for graduation, finding an internship, need to take my motorcycle in for maintenance, and that’s only what I can remember. It’s a garbled list of things I’ve done, am doing, and need to do.

The good news in all of that is that I hit a pretty bad low point in there where I messed up applying to an internship. I can’t really turn a blind eye to how bad my depression and anxiety problems are affecting my ability to function in the real world anymore. By the end of this week I’ll hopefully have an appointment made with a sliding scale place. They’re the only sliding scale payment option place I know of in the area, so I’m hoping that they agree to see me. My insurance won’t cover anything related to mental health and I don’t trust my university. It’s good news because I’ve never taken care of my mental health and any step I can take that will help me like who I am is a good step.

In order to leave off on a happy note, here’s a list of stuff I’m looking forward to:
-Traveling to Russia in order to study volcanoes in August
-My final semester before graduating
-Getting into grad school
-Moving far away from Texas (it’s a love/hate relationship)
-Moving somewhere with a reasonable climate
-Painting Cotopaxi for a friend
-Hopefully more painting because I miss oils
-Riding my motorcycle
-Department party ’cause there will be horses

Just how clueless is Adrik anyway? Find out next update.

SecretCaseFiles2 Check out this cute and funny mini comic I received from Jean_Q_Citizen of Alvery Nerveaux’s Secret Case Files as part of the Comic Fury Crossover Exchange In Love 2. As always, please click on the images to view them in their full-sized glory.

In a handful of days it’ll be my birthday. Normally I try to ignore the day as much as possible but this year is different. This year I’m trying to make a lot of positive life changes and I want not dreading my birthday to be one of them. Most people are usually excited for their birthdays, right? Also, I’m going to spend my birthday morning hunting for fossils and minerals in a mine for free. I can’t think of a better way to spend the day.

I hope that the “splash” effect is noticeable in the first panel.

Astor_fanart_dump__by_memoriacaelestie-d9oucjw Lots of amazing things have happened since the last update! First up is this super duper, awesome portrait of Astor by Memoria Caelestie of Diexemor. Astor is featured along with characters from Fire in the belly, Blackgate, and Paradox. I’m honored that Memoria featured Astor alongside a bunch of great characters!

The additional amazing news is that I’ll be studying abroad this summer! For anyone who doesn’t know, I’m currently working towards a BS in geology and one of the requirements is completing 2 different field camps. I completed one this past summer when I went out to the middle of nowhere USA for a few weeks in May/June and I’ll be doing another one this upcoming summer. I’ve been accepted into two different camps and while I only need to attend one, I’m going to try and attend both for the experience (my only outdoor experience was this past summer, I don’t come from a family of campers). They both require international travel, so updates are going to be all sorts of weird while I’m out of town. But both camps may actually increase my chances of studying volcanoes for a living which would be over 9,000 levels of awesome! Being an astronaut is about the only thing that would be better … and with the amount of volcanic activity in the solar system astronaut is still a possibility! Astronaut was my dream job growing up and for a while there I didn’t think it was something I would ever get to do (long story) so the renewed possibility is just ridiculously amazing! XD

In other news, I’m taking part in a support grid motivator. How it works is that you take a place on someone’s grid and as they finish pages/illustrations/pretty-art they check off boxes. When the box with your name on it is reached, you give the artist a gift for making it that far. My grid can be found here, if you are interested in taking a spot on it. With all the exciting things coming my way, I could use the extra motivation to keep focused. I’ve been randomly dancing around my apartment, not getting things done a little too much recently.

I kind of sort of have a buffer built back up. 1 page counts as a buffer, right? Updates will be roughly once every other week for the time being. I think I can keep that pace through the first half of the semester. Unlike previous semesters all of my work this semester focuses on reading, writing, and research. In some ways it is a lot more manageable than back to back exams but in others it is a lot more work.

I really don’t want updates to slow down any further. The part of the plot I’ve most anticipated drawing is only 2 chapters away. We’re sooooo close to some really interesting stuff happening. Before all the delays, I was probably going to be able to cover the stuff I’m excited about showing you guys prior to me going off to grad school. As things stand now, I’ll probably be in grad school when we get that far in the plot. But that’s still over a year from now and a lot can happen in that time.

Slowly but surely I’m making my way through the cameos I promised:
James from Nightlight, the tall one
Ra from College Munchies, in a trench coat
She–Cat who belongs to Elysium Bliss, the far right

An elusive update has appeared! XD

Next update should be up in two weeks. I’m going to try and make every other week updates for as long as possible.

Also check out these amazing pieces I received over the break!

EnyaGerald The first lovely picture is from azureXtwilight the creator of Re:Set, as part of Comic Fury’s Big Christmas Show Exchange. It’s so pretty! I love how azureXtwilight colors!

FaeAndAdrikSketch The next wonderful picture is from MoonLotus-Hime the creator of Everlasting Garden Fields. I was very pleasantly surprised when I received this adorable drawing. It’s soooooo cute!
