Fae3
Race: Human
First Appearance

Fae/Renee
As the 5th Hope, there is a lot riding on Fae’s shoulders that she has no clue about. Typically, Hopes are slowly introduced to Viosia by their predecessor and are fully capable of interacting with the world when it is their time to shine; however, that isn’t Fae’s position. Fae’s memories of Viosia have been wiped away by her predecessor in a vain attempt to protect Fae but from what is unknown. Unfortunately for Fae, she is now stuck in a world that she has no knowledge of and almost entirely blindly follows Enya’s lead on what must be done, despite internal hesitations. However, as Fae grows more comfortable with her situation, she is taking more risks and slowly exposing her curious nature.

Enya3
Race: Demi
First Appearance

Enya
As a Demi, Enya has gotten use to hiding who she is and what she can do from the general population. The amount of pretense necessary for her comfortable survival has bled into all areas of her life and even extends to those she claims to trust. As such, while she prides herself on her honesty, she lies by omission, often, as that has proven to be the safest route over time. Her “carefully crafted truths” include posing as a Dwarf, feigning telepathy, and reciting only historical facts that are known by contemporary historians. Despite her inability to tell the full truth, she has been a great stabilizing influence on Adrik’s post life and is, in general, a stabilizing influence on others. However, Enya has her limits.

Adrik3
Race: Wraith
First Appearance

Adrik
To say that Adrik is not a great person to be around would be an understatement. Adrik tends to lash out at others, especially when tensions are high, because he has very little control over his empathic and telepathic abilities. Because he is constantly assaulted by the thoughts and feelings of others, he rarely has any room in his head for his own thoughts and tends to operate on his base instincts a lot more than is healthy. Many of his problems are due to his relatively young age by wraith standards but are magnified by the fact that he chooses to spend most of his time around those he can’t “hear” anything from, such as Enya, which gives him very little practice at tuning others out. If Adrik were able to look past his own pride and admit that he needs help, he might just be surprised by how much easier his life would be. However, he has not quite reached that point, yet.

Bjorn
Race: Dwarf
First Appearance

Bjorn
Bjorn was once a member of the Dwarven Royal Guard and has many connections as a result. It was these connection that got Fae in to see the Monarch so quickly. What drew Bjorn to the Guard in the first place was a strong desire to help others and, despite retirement from the Guard, his desire to help others is what got him into the mess he is currently in. Bjorn’s recognizing what Fae is and her discomfort is what led to his offering a helping hand. Bjorn jokes that he helped Fae because of the stories he would be able to tell but that’s not his only nor primary reason.

MarieA
Marie
Race: Aquatian
First Appearance

Aqua Marie
Marie will do what ever it takes to protect the people she loves. She may seem reckless but she does take into account all known factors before jumping head first into trouble. It is those unknown variables that have taught her to pay attention to details and think quickly on her feet.

Like all aquatians she is a shape shifter with three primary forms: a watery form, an amphibious form, and a human-like form. Marie greatly prefers her watery and amphibious forms to her human forms.

Demis

Irvingv2
Race: Demi
First Appearance

Irving
All Hopes have thought little more of Irving than as a passing nuisance but that’s just what he wanted them to think. Zel, Hope, and possibly others all learned too late that Irving is a force to be reckoned with. Irving has little more than “toyed” with Fae and his true intentions have yet to be seen.

Elva
Race: Demi
First Appearance

Elva
Elva will use her looks to get what she wants.

Supporting

Zv2
Race: Human
First Appearance

Zel/Shelley
Zel was the 4th Hope, slain by Irving. The tragic nature of her death has had a large impact on the main cast; but, it was her erasure of Fae’s memories that had the largest impact. The full impact of what she wrought has yet to be revealed.

Race:Human
First Appearance

Hope
It was her ability to use powerful magic that made everyone doubt she was a human and her humanity that made them doubt she was a Demi. Very little is known about the first Hope other than her triumph over the Demis and that her death was due to betrayal. The betrayer changes depending on who you ask. Most races say it was the human general, the Dwarves only care that Hope was betrayed, and humans say it was the arboreal general. The identity of the betrayer has been a huge point of contention for the races across the years.

Astor3
Race: Wraith
First Appearance

Astor
Astor likes to pretend that he is the greatest person to have ever graced the world but it is all an elaborate ruse to prevent others from wanting to get close to him. Due to his empathic and telepathic abilities, Astor knows that most people would not give him the time of day should the truth of what he is be learned and so he actively ensures that most people won’t like him, which typically involves him acting in a way that is the most amusing to himself at the expense of others. However, no armor is 100% impervious and every so often Astor runs across a person he knows can accomplish great things if only they were given the chance. Meg is such a person.

Astor never wanted to be friends with Meg, but once Meg figured out his game the friendship was inevitable. Part of the reason that Astor inevitably helped Meg was that Meg is descended from Astor’s brother (not that he’d ever tell this). Astor’s been secretly and not so secretly helping out the descendents of his brother’s family for generations. He hasn’t always been successful, Meg wouldn’t be the last surviving family member if he was, but helping gave his afterlife some focus.

Meg3
Race: Human
First Appearance

Meg
Meg didn’t exactly have an easy childhood and has a bit of a temper as a result. She’s not exactly proud of her past actions but that hasn’t turned her away from a life of thievery, either. Meg was not thrilled by Astor’s initial attempts at help but she soon came to see how valuable working with him was, especially when it came to stealing things. Once she started seeing the value in Astor’s help, Meg quickly realized what Astor’s game was and began to play along. From there they inadvertently became friends.

Meg has always fancied herself as street smart. Unfortunately for her, Meg’s abilities were actually due to her being a Demi lineage instead of her being good at reading situations. This lead to some unpleasant attention from the Soldiers of Hope who decided to bring her in once her Demi lineage status was confirmed. Meg, like most humans, is prejudiced against anything Demi in nature and was more than a little shocked and unnerved by the news that she is a Demi lineage. Of course being saved by someone you revile at the same time as your world view is being shattered makes the situation all that much more worse. Meg has come to trust Astor and know the person behind the mask, but grows increasingly annoyed with the masks he puts on when they interact with other people.

Meira
Meiro
Race: Human
First Appearance

Meira & Meiro
Meira had healing powers and Meiro was always sick.

Noliidae
Race: Arboreal
First Appearance

Noliidae
Hope’s Arboreal general and lover. She was the last person to be seen exiting Hope’s tent and is commonly believed among humans to be the betrayer.

Jude
Race: Human
First Appearance

Jude
Hope’s human general who betrayed Hope to Irving. No one saw him enter nor leave Hope’s tent.
