Spirit Magic

Spirit based magic is magic centered around the Spirits’ existence and is the innate magic of Viosia. Most users of Spirit based magic fall somewhere on the spirit spectrum but occasionally a human is born who can channel spirit based abilities (less than .01% of the population) but the ability to channel spirit abilities must be taught and the practice has all but died out. Spirit magic is entirely psychic in nature and abilities are gained with time. As revenants, spirits are only capable of limited telekinesis, telepathic, and aportation abilities. As wraiths, spirits gain increased control and power over their revenant gained abilities but slowly add empathy, multilocation, a sense for when someone will die, and increased control over their physical state. As Spirits, spirits have the ability to essentially be omnipresent and add pre- and retro-cognitive powers to their growing repertoire.

The rare human who can channel Spirit based magical abilities ends up with a very, very weak version of one or two of the Spirit’s abilities (not including aportation, multilocation, or omnipresence). When the abilities are under the control of a human, the human can often be mistaken for a Demi lineage because weak forms of Spirit based magic are nearly indistinguishable from weak forms of Demi based magic.

A Hope’s passive power is a gift from the Spirits and is the reason why a Hope’s passive ability is psychic in nature. Because of this gift, Hopes are able to manipulate all of the magic around them and not just the Demi based magic.
