It was her ability to use powerful magic that made everyone doubt she was a human and her humanity that made them doubt she was a Demi. Very little is known about the first Hope other than her triumph over the Demis and that her death was due to betrayal. The betrayer changes depending on who you ask. Most races say it was the human general, the Dwarves only care that Hope was betrayed, and humans say it was the arboreal general. The identity of the betrayer has been a huge point of contention for the races across the years.
You probably noticed that a lot of tiny changes have been taking place across the site for the past 2 or so months; it was all to get the site ready for re-sizing. Welcome to the new page size, new site size, and new chapter! There’s also been a slight change to the regular page… Continue reading 00
I hope it’s clear that Fae is falling into the grave that she was standing over in the previous panel. Also romance! I’m not a really big fan of romance in stories because there are very few instances where romance is done well, at least in Hollywood. And don’t get me started on love triangles…… Continue reading 21
You can use this scene to tell what biases and truths were present in Enya’s and Adrik’s description of Hope.
There is a very purposeful discrepancy between what Enya says way back on the the two linked pages and what is pictured on the current page. I quintuple checked that the discrepancy in the math added up correctly before finalizing this scene, other wise I would have accidentally created a big plot hole. Two chapters… Continue reading 23
Things are about to happen. — This week is the busiest of weeks. It’s my last week of summer class and so I have an exam today and a final Thursday. On top of that fun mess I have to prepare for going out of town and socialize my skittish doggie to the boarding facility.… Continue reading 24
His name is Jude. He doesn’t get a lot of screen time so I decided against subtly with the name choice. Jude decided to pretend the question was why because he’s trope aware enough to know not to answer how, even with a non-answer. Also, the answer why is always power, always. Also, I completely… Continue reading 25
Irving has always been underestimated and he always uses this fact to his advantage.
Thanks to demi teleportation abilities no one knew that the last people to see Hope alive were Irving and Jude. Instead, Noliidae was accused of Hope’s death by many and a large schism among the races formed. The Arboreals have all but stopped communicating with the other races due to the unjust accusations and violence… Continue reading 32
Back to this place. Fae’s got a friend now. I’m about to head out of town for about a week and a half. Updates will continue on schedule but I will most likely not have internet for that time.
Fae repeatedly hallucinated Noliidae instead of Hope because Hope’s precognitive abilities coupled with Fae’s retrocognitive abilities do some interesting things when combined. Fae was subconsciously shielding herself from what would happen if she saw Hope and substituted hallucinations of Noliidae in Hope’s place. These past two pages are teasers of what happens when Fae sees… Continue reading 35
