Bjorn was once a member of the Dwarven Royal Guard and has many connections as a result. It was these connection that got Fae in to see the Monarch so quickly. What drew Bjorn to the Guard in the first place was a strong desire to help others and, despite retirement from the Guard, his desire to help others is what got him into the mess he is currently in. Bjorn’s recognizing what Fae is and her discomfort is what led to his offering a helping hand. Bjorn jokes that he helped Fae because of the stories he would be able to tell but he has other reasons as well.
If you were wondering why everyone had been sitting uncomfortably on the wooden floor, it is because Marie has gathered all of the extra pillows in order to make Fae’s pillow seat/bed. Another one of those silent pages that I enjoy so much. At first I was going to have Marie say something for that last panel and then I decided against it, part for plot reasons and part for preserving the silence of the page.
Had a choice between meters and yards. Decided on meters because I like the metric system better.
Marie isn’t use to being fully solid.
I’m so happy with how Marie and Bjorn came out because foreshortening and perspective are a pain, especially when you are just kind of winging it with a really hastily sketched perspective grid.
