The blame game is the game that everyone loses. Things will be a bit brighter in the coming updates.

Good news everyone! Updates are back up to twice a week! XD I can only guarantee the new schedule through the end of the chapter but it should help to get things moving again. Still no buffer, but the rest of the pages for the chapter are close to finished.
If you were wondering what was up with the water hand page about 10 updates ago, this page and a couple more pages in the chapter should explain things a little better.
As for the freezing, Bjorn doesn’t just melt things; he can, also, freeze them. Dwarven abilities are essentially tied to temperature control of solids. The metal that Bjorn carries on him, allows him to indirectly interact with gases and liquids. He can also use the metal as a weapon or a shield, but that’s not his preferred use. Living in a mountain, Bjorn learned to hone his abilities by deforming rocks which is how he is very adept at moving them around.
Rock fact time: Temperature and pressure are what affect rock deformation. A change to one or the other directly affects the behavior of rocks. One of the dangers in mining is that digging tunnels takes pressure off of the remaining rock which leads to the remaining rock explosively expanding to fill the newly formed empty space. It’s kind of like how if you press down on a foam mattress, the mattress springs back to it’s original shape once the pressure is removed.

If you were wondering where the metal went, it was up his sleeve the entire time.
I’m steadily attempting to rebuild the buffer after completely depleting it over the course of my trip. I’ll hopefully have some good new with the next update. 🙂

Team work!
I’m now officially back from traveling for the next month. I have one more planned absence for the summer but then it will be smooth sailing until school starts. Also, I completely forgot to add Marie’s spots to all the pages that went up while I was out of town. The spots are now on all of the previous pages. Feel free to check back if you want to see the difference that spots make.
Before heading out of town, I took part in Comic Fury’s Pirate Prom Crossover Exchange. All of the images to the exchange were posted while I was out of town and I didn’t get to see the extremely lovely image of Fae until last week. Fae’s posed next to Lucy from Pulse. I’m basically in awe of how immensely talented Lightfoot, the creator of Pulse, is. I love everything about this picture and feel like I’ve learned a lot about drawing from just looking at the picture alone.

Fae’s probably the only one that thought that the lava would do the trick, everyone else just thought it would buy them enough time to escape. Everybody was wrong.
Unless something happened, I’m no longer in no where but I’m still traveling and probably won’t have reliable computer access until Thursday.
I’d like to start overhauling the site when I get back into town. Are there any features you want to see? Anything that needs improving? Please let me know and I can add it to the list. I already have plans to get a functional mobile version of the site operational (it was at some point but it isn’t any longer for what ever reason).

Can’t really get anymore ominous than that.
Obligatory reminder: I’m out in the middle of no where and likely won’t have internet access. If I do get internet access, it will be unreliable and through my phone. Basically, there will be considerable delays in responding to comments. I won’t be back in civilization until early-mid June.
Edit: Was so busy getting ready to go to nowhere that I forgot to add Marie’s spots to the page. She now has her spots.

That doesn’t look ominous or anything.
One thing that’s been bugging me, and it’s probably only been bugging me because I’m studying geology, is the nature of rocks and melting and all that jazz. The rocks that Bjorn lava-fied are not the same rocks that formed the cave but the ones that the cave sits upon. Limestone (what the majority of caves are made of and what this one is made of) doesn’t melt at atmospheric conditions but instead turns into Carbon Dioxide and lime with enough added heat. In order to get the basalt you see here, Bjorn had to bring the rocks up that sit underneath the cave and melt those. Without a boost to his magical abilities he would not have been able to accomplish what he did. Of course, in the process he did have to burn up some limestone and the air in the cave is a lot less breathable than it was before (even without the limestone present, there’d still be added CO2 in the air from the lava, but there’s even more in the air because Bjorn had to get rid of a whole lot of limestone). There is a page coming up that slightly addresses the CO2 problem but it doesn’t go into any detail. The cave is well ventilated, though, so no one is running out of oxygen any time soon, at least not due to Bjorn. 😉

If Emma didn’t like playing with her “toys” so much, everyone, especially Fae, would probably be dead by now.
ZOMG guys! Check out this amazing picture of Astor from the ever so talented Spelledeg of INTS: Black Gate. Astor looks quite dapper in his new suit. Words can not express how much I love this picture! XD If you aren’t already reading INTS: Black Gate, you really should be. It’s a sci-fi story with a rich world and complex characters. Please give it a read. Also click on the image of Astor to see the full sized version.

Hope Fae is okay.
That top panel is another one I redrew after scanning the page in. I really like how the angle came out.

There’s less than a week before I head out to the middle of nowhere to learn how to look at rocks all scientific-like and stuff. While I’m gone I’m going to have limited access to electronics and likely zero access to internet. During what ever free time I get, I’ll be sketching out the upcoming chapters. There’s a number of upcoming crowd scenes that could use populating. If you have a character that you would like to have make a cameo in the crowd scene, feel free to send them my way. When your character appears, I’ll include a link back to your website (if you have one). I will be changing your character’s clothes, though, so that they fit in and if your character isn’t human looking, they’ll be treated to a human makeover. Since I very likely won’t have internet access for the next month, please send your cameo requests to me before this upcoming Friday.

Emma doesn’t have to see the water to be able to affect it.
After Thursday I’m free for a week! I’m counting down the days till I get some breathing room.
