Originally, I was going to have a panel on this page where Enya recognized Fae had returned and then decided against it since as much as Enya can direct a conversation so that a third party will over hear the relevant parts, she isn’t doing that here. Fae wondered back early because she’s getting cold and noticed that the fire had been started. Also, it’s about to get dark and with how rocky the terrain is Fae doesn’t want to wonder back to camp without being able to see where she is going. Neither Enya nor Adrik expected Fae to turn back so early as they aren’t hindered by the same realities of physical existence as Fae. Enya can generate her own light and Adrik doesn’t have to walk (doesn’t need light to “see” either but that’s a topic for next chapter) and so this is just another instance where they forgot about Fae’s limitations. Although if it weren’t for Fae neither of them would have had the sense to get warm clothes until someone took the wrong sort of interest in two people not dressing appropriately for the weather.

Paranoid and irrational, Enya picked those words very carefully.

This past week was my second first week of college classes. I really messed up my first time through college (if I could erase most of my freshman year and part of my sophomore year I would without hesitation, though I really enjoyed the major I ended up in) and am trying really hard not to fall into old habits. If I ever seem to fall of the face of the earth or updates start popping up a few hours late it’s because I’m trying desperately to not screw myself over academically for the second time. The updates being a few hours late is because all pages are queued originally for midnight and not 10 pm cst. Changing the update time is the ritual I have to remind myself to write something in the comment section.

Enya started the conversation expecting that she’d need to sternly set Adrik straight but quickly realized that a heart to heart might be more effective since Adrik is actually aware that he’s a problem. There’s certain concepts that Demis, in general, are incapable of grasping and no amount of good intentions can cover that up. Luckily, Enya is pretty quick at picking up on when she’s run into a conceptual road block and steering around it. Although, sometimes she runs into the roadblock without realizing it. She would have been much more successful in getting Adrik and Fae to get along if she actually understood grief.

This chapter takes place a few weeks after the end of the previous chapter and the title is a reference to the boiling and condensation point of water. I meant to put those two bits of info up with the title page but the holiday season and a series of unfortunate events got in the way (toilet repeatedly flooding the apartment and RATS!!!!).

In much more exciting news, Thursday’s update will be the big 200. There’s nothing really fancy about the page but I’m excited, especially since I only made it to about 160 pages the first time I attempted to put Eternity Complex on the web.

Looking forward on the new year, I’m hoping that I’ll be able to maintain a 2x a week update schedule since I’ll be going back to school in two weeks. I wasn’t successful at building up a large buffer prior to the start of Jan and so I’m desperately hoping that between work and school I’ll have enough spare time to maintain the buffer. I’m sorry in advance if I have to drop the update schedule down while I finish up my second-first semester of college.

Edit: Just wanted to correct myself. No rats here, just mice. Finally got a good enough look at one to know for sure. So glad it wasn’t rats. I hate rats.

2nd Edit: It was a baby rat…and there is likely more since babies don’t magically appear. I really hate rats.
