This page made me think more about how each character would behave in a fight. Enya is patient and will wait for the best opportunity to strike; she has a sense of fair play but won’t always apply it. Fae is more of a reactive fighter and she’d fight as fairly as she perceived her opponent to be fighting. Adrik can be showy and impulsive; he would never dream of fighting fair.

I wonder where Enya is going.

My computer is broken, yet again. Over the course of the three years that I’ve had my laptop I have sent it in twice because the screen broke (the second time my entire screen was replaced with a new one) and once because the video card gave out. Well, the video card gave out…again. Luckily my computer has a 2 year extended warranty (the manufacturer’s warranty was for two years) so the repairs (and shipping) are free up until the end of this year. I’m not usually a fan of extended warranties, but with the way I use my laptop (multiple large photoshop documents or video game + netflix or pandora + lots of web tabs open) there’s no way any graphics card would last me longer than 3 years. I’m a bit annoyed my video card is on a death spiral but that’s what the extended warranty is for.

In other happier news, my spring break starts in a week and so my computer couldn’t have picked a better time to act up. I’ll actually have the motivation to work on all the school work I’ve been putting off.

Edit: I’ll have the overcast version of this page up once I have all of my files transferred onto my backup hard drive. This is the old version that I forgot to update on this site when I changed everything to overcast a few updates ago.

Edit 2: File transfer complete. Overcast version now up.

Fae has a lot of raw power at her disposal but hasn’t learned to control or tap into that power. While she can make stuff move, Fae’s much better at manipulating the magic that’s near her. Fae doesn’t realize this but the glow that’s been accompanying her recent uses of telekinesis is entirely due to Fae’s tapping into Enya’s light creating abilities. No one has pointed it out to Fae because it has been more useful for Fae to appear demi lineage (any human descended from the Demis retains the glow when using an active power, just to a much lesser degree than a Demi) and both Adrik and Enya noticed Fae is a bit reliant on the glow when trying to do anything with telekinesis. Neither Adrik nor Enya want to point something trivial out to Fae that would distract Fae from gaining better control over her abilities.

Until this winter, snow actually covering the ground was something I hadn’t seen since I was a toddler. I hope my lack of snow-perience isn’t too obvious on all of these snow pages. Most of this chapter was completed before I got my first glimpse of what several inches of snow on the ground while it is sunny looks like. The thing that really struck me the most when I actually witnessed snow was the lack of shadows and how it uniformly coats everything in a sea of white. Snow is really interesting looking.

Edit: I received some really great advice about snow from a reader. This page and several previous pages have been updated with overcast skies and lighting.
