I wonder why Marie doesn’t trust Enya.

I started using Manga Studio for the lettering on this page. While I stuck with Manga Studio for the basic text for the rest of the chapter, I pretty sure that I prefer Photoshop for lettering. Photoshop has way more options for text than Manga Studio. But I do prefer Manga Studio’s word balloon options. Next chapter I’ll have a good text/balloon system in place.

Fae got her answer and they continued on their way.

Adrik_23_100pBetween studying for a test, taking care of a sick person, and pulling double dog duty, I almost forgot to post about the new picture of Adrik I received for the 100 palette challenge from Ten Penny Officer who is the creator of Eider’s End. This portrait is super awesome and Ten Penny Officer did a fantastic job at capturing Adrik’s personality! I could poke this picture with a stick all day. Though Adrik would probably only last two stick pokes before getting annoyed and leaving in a huff. If you like this picture you should check out Eider’s End. The artwork for Eider’s End is superbly trippy and while there’s only 8 pages up so far, what is up promises an interesting story to come.

Also, you can click the portrait to view the full sized image.

So at first I was thinking the cave would be filled with bioluminescent moss but then I learned of the Glowworm Cave in New Zealand and now I can’t imagine this cave being filled with anything other than a ton of tiny glowing insects. The processes that Bjorn used to increase the cave entrance size also moved the critters closer to the entrance than they are comfortable with. They will slowly migrate back down the passage but I’m pretty certain that many of those tiny critters are in shock from suddenly being in the sunlight.

I’m so happy with how Marie and Bjorn came out because foreshortening and perspective are a pain, especially when you are just kind of winging it with a really hastily sketched perspective grid. Fae wasn’t as lucky but getting two out of three looking really good is a great accomplishment for me.

Fae_zpsb19b9bf9 In super exciting news, I’ve been participating in a 100 palette challenge over on the Comic Fury forum and received this stunning drawing of Fae from Alicia of Silver. The image is soooooo pretty, I could stare at it all day. The palette Alicia chose is perfect for Fae and I love Alicia’s line work. To see the full sized illustration, please click on the image to the left. If you want to see more of Alicia’s work, please check out her wonderful webcomic Silver.
